He explains that investors need to become more educated consumers and take greater control of their retirement plans. Pete points towards gap analysis tools as a way to improve the likelihood of success by allowing participants to calculate what they want their income replacement to be and see if they're on track to achieve it. There was a time when some folks in the food industry didn’t want certain nutritional information published. They claimed consumers either wouldn’t know what to do or wouldn’t bother to find out. They were right in some respects. These days, a lot of people do see helpful nutritional facts on food packaging and they purchase the bad stuff anyway.
And the same may be true when retirement plan participants begin getting clearer details on how much they pay in fees to invest their money.

Forrest Wilson Joins ASPire Financial Services
ASPire announced today the hiring of Forrest Wilson as Managing Director of National Sales.

Wilson brings to ASPire over twenty years of experience in the retirement plan market place. During his career, Forrest has been a top sales representative at Fidelity and Great West, where he most recently led the corporate 401(k) group in revenue production for 2011. Prior to that, Wilson served as Divisional Vice President for ING, where he ran sales and service for their Southeastern Coastal market. He has his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.

ASPire Financial Services Appoints Two Industry Veterans to its Board
ASPire Financial Services, today announced the appointment of Charlie Ruffel and Bob Francis to its Board.

Mr. Ruffel is a leading authority on global pension issues, institutional money management, and international securities services. He is the Founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Asset International, an information services company with media products including PLANSPONSOR©, PLANADVISER, NewsDash, and Global Custodian. Mr. Ruffel currently serves as a managing partner at Kudu Advisors, a New York City-based M&A advisory firm focused on assignments in the institutional investment management and investor services arena.

Mr. Francis has over 32 years of experience in the financial services industry, recently serving as Managing Director of Retirement Services at BlackRock. Prior to BlackRock, Mr. Francis was Executive VP of Retirement Strategy at LPL, Chief Operating Officer of National Retirement Partners and President of 401(k) Markets at ING. Prior to his tenure at ING, Mr. Francis held various executive level positions with Aetna Capital Management and Aetna Retirement Services.

401k ASP changes its name. [01/2010]
Tampa-based 401k ASP, Inc. saw a 200-percent growth in recordkeeping assets in 2009 which has led to the company more than doubling its staffing in that time period, as well as a name change to better reflect the expanding product lineup.
